What Is TMS? TMS is a non-invasive depression treatment that is medication-free. With TMS therapy, a magnetic field is used to stimulate the prefrontal cortex of your brain. In a TMS therapy session, an HPR Treatment Centers technician places an electromagnetic coil gently on your head. Once they turn the device on, the coil sends magnetic pulses to your prefrontal cortex. This helps the cells in that part of your brain to more effectively regulate your mood.
